This is the official call of the AFRW 2009 Biennial Convention, and is issued as authorized in Article V, Section 2A of the AFRW Bylaws. This Biennial Convention will be held in Anchorage, May 7-9 at the Sheraton Hotel.
This is also the Call to the AFRW Board of Directors meeting to be held on Thursday evening, May7 (time to be announced) and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
The convention will be called to order on Friday, May 8 at 9:00 am. The business of the convention will include Election of Officers, Standing Committee Reports, outstanding Republican speakers, workshops, and any other business as may properly come before the convention.
Representation shall be four (4) voting delegates and four (4) alternates for each unit club in good standing, plus one (1) delegate for each twenty-five (25) members-or fraction thereof. Representation shall be based upon the paid-up membership in both the AFRW and NFRW thirty (30), days prior to the biennial convention. The voting body of the convention shall be: the duly elected delegates from each member club or their elected alternates, members of the board and past AFRW presidents.
AFRW clubs in good standing are: Anchorage Republican Women's Club, Capital City Republican Women, Fairbanks Republican Women's Club, First City Republican Women, Kenai Republican Women's Club, Mat Su Republican Women's Club, Midnight Sun Republican Women's Club, Sitka Republican Women's Club and the Valley Republican Women's Club.
Invited Guests Include: Governor Sarah Palin, NFRW President Shirley Sadler, NFRW 1st VP Sue Lynch and our seven elected Republican women legislators.
